First, I want everyone to know that I am Linux illiterate. I know just enough to do some damage. Like one of the main characters from the t.v. series Psych once said, "Explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old."
Info:
- HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer
- connected through the USB directly (NO network)
- Hp mini 210-1000 Netbook about 2.5 years old (32 bit)
- I installed cups and other stuff (don't ask me what else, I'm new to all this)
- The computer SEES the printer seemingly corectly, but when I press print, nothing happens
- I am affraid of the command line
- I have all updates from the update manager
- I clicked on PREFERENCES then PRINTING then HELP then TROUBLE SHOOT then it gave me this text eventually AFTER the trouble-shooting questions :
Page 1 (Scheduler not running?):
{'cups_connection_failure': False}
Page 2 (Choose printer):
{'cups_dests_available': , 'cups_queue_listed': False}
Page 3 (Local or remote?):
{'printer_is_remote': False}
Page 4 (Choose device):
{'cups_device_listed': False, 'cups_devices_available': {}}
Page 5 (Locale issues):
{'printer_page_size': None,
'system_locale_lang': None,
'user_locale_ctype': 'en_US',
'user_locale_messages': 'en_US'}
I thank anyone that can help me !
