If it doesn't bother you to put the wattOS panel at the top of the screen, then you can open up a new one at the bottom and give it all the attributes you wish (though not the Cairo whizzbangs!) just with the Panel Settings/Preferences window - geometry, applets, appearance, etc.

The netbook manages to drive projectors and speakers at work and seems pretty fast. Boot times are around the 35 second mark, not bad, though a little slower than #! but then wattOS is a lot friendlier than #! for the neuronally-challenged such as miself! wattOS is  very well put together and easy enough to configure to anyone's taste - I managed to make a little pop-up dock out of a panel I put at the bottom, with all my favorite icons in it, and it works well. So all hail Bif & his team for producing such a fine little jewel of a distro.  less
