People are more connected than many realize :-) It seems to me that the digital divide is decreasing, not because more people have a computer, but because more people in developing countries have access to the Internet, through Internet cafes and can easily purchase inexpensive USB pen drives.

Hi Biff,According to Wikipedia, the Eee PC 700 has a 800×480 pixels 7 inch monitor, and uses the Intel GMA 900 graphics core. Unfortunately, I am unable to check the resolution I am using, or anything else for that matter, as I just got hit by the auto login bug. I get prompted to login at boot up, but my user name/password are not accepted. I can't bring up a virtual terminal either. This post was edited by Brian Durant at January 13, 2011 2:52 AM PST

I am experiencing rendering issues with both Chromium and Firefox on an Eee PC 700X. The background covers the foreground (right side) between 1/4 and 1/3 depending on the browser. I am experiencing this both on Planetwatt and a number of other sites.

I tried both PCL drivers, but they give me the same errors as the other Epson drivers: "There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-not-possible'."

Hi Biff, I would like to setup printer support on my Eee PC running R3. I have an Epson Stylus SX425W. The Epson .deb package depends for some reason on forty-five other packages. I neither have room on the SSD (2GB), nor a desire to install all of those depends. I have tried setting the printer up in CUPS, but the SX410 and 510 drivers return errors, despite the printer having a static IP and I have tried to set it up as an LPD/LPR printer. There is no 425W driver. Any ideas? Is there someway I can install the Epson driver without all of those depends?
