LiveCD typically requires 256MB of RAM to spin up and install, much less after. I have installed as low as a PII 233 - but generally any P3 class machine and up will run it just fine and provide a good experience. so PIII - 256MB of RAM is comfortable. I use a 700MHz laptop all the time like that.

craig davidsonthank you for the reply, i have tried various Linux distros and the only one that was truly happy was ubuntu 8.04, the toshiba satelite laptop 4330 would sclose down and start up, i tried puppy but NEVER got it to instal, always got a grub error out of di... morethank you for the reply, i have tried various Linux distros and the only one that was truly happy was ubuntu 8.04, the toshiba satelite laptop 4330 would sclose down and start up, i tried puppy but NEVER got it to instal, always got a grub error out of disk, could not install a debain OS as had no LAN connection only wifi also same with bodhi etc etc, would like a light xfce x11 desk top so laptop will once againn be hapy, currently using a doctored version of W2K, but needs constant love to eek it throught the week.
i will DL wattOS and try this out, i will keep you posted less

ok...have fun. The install and liveCD will likely be slow and take a bit - but once installed should cruise nicely :)
