Hi,

Don't get me wrong wattOS runs pretty well when it works but without sound it seems a bit pointless.

Can anyone help this hopeless ex Windows user?

Cheers

Chris

    Hi,

I decided to install watt OS on an old Samung V25 laptop that I have purely for the kids to do homework and surf the net on.

Installation went ok until I rebooted and came up against a black screen.  I turned the laptop off and left if 10 mins and rebooted.  It worked but keeps doing the same thing all the time.

Also the system is running really fast but has no audio at all.

I have tried playing a DVD and that also fails.

I have tried about 40-50 linux ditros including Puppy Linux and I have had no luck with most of them.  Should jI just bin the thing or keep trying?

I have managed to install xp on it but it runs like crap.  Quite impressed with the speed of WattOS but without having full functionality its pretty useless.

    Can anyone help me out.

Leenie Gilmore your link goes to customer support. Is this your pc? http://www.samsungpc.com/gb/support/v20/specs/v25specissue1.pdf
Also, did you look at the proprietary drivers? preferences - additional drivers
please keep trying, wattOS is wonderful!
