I'm having a little problem. After I enabled Nvidia drivers in my OS, I can no longer boot normally with the text getting stuck at "checking battery." My PC has no battery since it is a desktop. Interestingly, I can boot normally if I choose the "recovery mode" option in GRUB and then boot normally.
If it would be of any help, here are some basic info about my rig.

I down graded to version 5 and guess what... I dropped to the console environment. No graphical desktop. The only way for me to have gui is to type under root priviledges.
    Am I missing something here?

unable to handle kernel page request

It has occurred several times already since I installed the operating system.
I researched the net and I found out that this maybe due to a faulty RAM.

    I strongly doubt this because:

    1. My rig is new. CPU & mainboard, GPU, & RAM.
    2. If this were a RAM issue, Windows 7 (installed in another drive) would be having more BSODs as compared to wattOS.

Here are the specs of my PC.

    MaQboard

    With the ff specs:
Intel Xeon 3.4GHz Single Core Nocona
    Intel G41 onboard graphics
    Intel ICH7
    XFX 8500GT 512MB Fatal1ty
    G.Skill 4GB DDR3 1333MHz

The MaQboard is a custom designed motherboard for running MacOS without having an actual Mac.
It's more than powerful enough for everyday use. I can play games, surf the net, -- do pretty much an ave...    less
