Ah, thanks Kenn, that's a no to loading sensible formatting...that goes beyond sparsity of fonts, I take it. (How bad is it with LibreOffice or OpenOffice?) Calligrasheets leans in at 300MB (without charting and markup bits,) so how about just 600KB for the python-xlwt package (and a package it depends on, per Synaptic.) Any good? It looks like M'soft core fonts are already in R6, but you might have had a mind to pick some Apple or HP fonts, say... Kspread and a font set or so (at 550MB?) Apologies if that's too much wheel again already.
