Hi  I just dowloaded and burt the OS and tried it on a pC which isnt connected to the net and i liked it so i thought i would install it onto a laptop aqll ok till i try to access the web through midori   ..then almost as soon as i get onto google, yahoo, or any website it just crashes... so i cant get anywhere to download a different browser..

i have removed the OS to see if there is a workround or if there will be a new release soon with a different browser..

Regarding the Midori-crash problem: open midori up and in the options, uncheck the box that says to "allow scripts".

You can install firefox browser through the synaptic pkg manager.

There is supposed to be a new release any day now.

    Good luck, mack

You can install chromium which is the open source version of google chrome. This can be done via synaptic (software manager), so no browser is required. Additionally you can install it from the terminal with the command "sudo apt-get install chromium-browser" and it will ask a question or two, and download it from software repos. good luck....biff

I read on the Midori website that Midori can't use plugins (Which includes YouTube, if i'm not mistaken) in Windows, but can in Linux.

Anyway, Biff was right about Chromium. It's quite good, but you might want to try Midori first, even though if you like it it won't be that far better, if better, than Chromium.
