Samsung V25 No Audio/Black Screen on boot/Can't play DVD's

    Hi,

I decided to install watt OS on an old Samung V25 laptop that I have purely for the kids to do homework and surf the net on.

Installation went ok until I rebooted and came up against a black screen.  I turned the laptop off and left if 10 mins and rebooted.  It worked but keeps doing the same thing all the time.

Also the system is running really fast but has no audio at all.

I have tried playing a DVD and that also fails.

I have tried about 40-50 linux ditros including Puppy Linux and I have had no luck with most of them.  Should jI just bin the thing or keep trying?

I have managed to install xp on it but it runs like crap.  Quite impressed with the speed of WattOS but without having full functionality its pretty useless.

    Can anyone help me out.

Here are the specs of the latop:

I doubt if the outcome in kid satisfaction will be worth your effort and time with such an old machine. I have a very nice 100-dollar 15.3" Compaq laptop set to go - my hobby. http://douwil7.100webspace.net/forsale.htm
