    a bit OT :
Change the name of this topic to Pre-release discussion, so that it can be closed when R6 release is fixed, and other specifically-named topics can open after release.

My 2 cents on a 64bit edition: I would use both 64bit on my main computer and 32bit on most of those I give away as those are in the 5 - 10 year old category.

Hello everybody! Thanks for your job Biff. For me is not so importent which app. will be in r6, this i can always change in my way. For me is importent that will be light distro (Lxde) and LTS. Its possible that Wattos R6 will be LTS? Lubuntu 12.04 is not.

What about having Ecosia as the default search engine?

I think we should consider the E17 desktop. It isn't that hard to learn, and it's super light.

The question is.....is LXDE heavier (or is E17 lighter than LXDE)?

E17 was lighter than LXDE in my tests. I installed it on wattOS a few months ago.

R6 is going well. I am using the pre-release daily on my dev systems and polishing up things. I will produce an app list shortly, and will probably throw out a few more questions. AFA 32 and 64bit, I have not decided. I have both running in pre-release, and I have no doubt I can do both, it just becomes more of a question of time...ha

Suggestion related to power savings: maybe we could have a few more "dark" theme options for lxde and openbox. I like to keep things as dark as possible on my traveling laptop to reduce display drain on the battery. I haven't done any tests, but I assume it helps.

Comment about E17: I tried and tried to like E17. I wanted to like it, I think it's impressive, but I can't stand it. E17 is more about looks and less about getting things done to me. Navigation and menu options were not intuitive. I've read comments that it is lighter on resources than lxde, and also lxde can be lighter. I'd give it another shot if it's used but I'm really digging LXDE. Simple, intuitive, configurable.

I also suggest a text based installer. Have encountered two old boxes that repeatedly crashed on the graphical install. Had to go with Ubuntu minimal install and LXDE.

E17 can be arranged to look how you want, put things where you want. I set mine up similar to how LXDE is set up. It makes it easier to find things. You have some choices about the menu too.

I agree about the text installer, it does make it go easier on those really low spec machines..

I am very impressed with WattOS.

I have no complaints or suggestions.

Thanks a lot for my new OS.

I've become very enamored of E-17 too!

I don't use an email client or an IM program, so no preferences there. I am conflicted, on the one hand I like having a tiny install & add my own choice of apps, but then I don't get to discover new & exciting apps like fotxx. Did I discover that on wattOS?

My own thing would be to include onboard & have it available on login.

Onboard works perfectly on ubuntu 12.04 but I have yet to get it to work on lubuntu 12.04.
Also onboard has greatly improved since 10.04
Will gimp 2.8 be in the repository ?
