Hi Mark,
A lot of the stuff needed is already there. Flash, etc. I tried to make the most common things pre-installed. If you need specific things that are missing, feel free to ask here, or if your comfortable with synaptic, it will find what you need.

Biff. can you please give instructions on how to make it so one can view Encrypted DVD's? I understand that some people do that have Ubuntu. All I have in my Netbook, and I have an external DVD to view DVDs, and write to DVD-R/RW.

Most up-to-date browsers have Flash. However, here is a guide for installing it in Firefox, which had some versions that didn't: http://douwil7.100webspace.net/linux/Tuning.html#20. Javajdk can be istalled from Synaptic. I think just installing the latest icetea-plugin will bring in most of what you need. If you want a Java that works for complicated programs, then install Oracle Java: http://douwil7.100webspace.net/linux/Tuning.html#8. Be aware that any Java is quite heavy in resource requirements. I have never had problems playing any DVD. Ripping them is another story. Install VLC player; it includes just about every codec in existence.
