I have downloaded and burned iso image two times. I get a laundry list of errors before the live cd boots. The installer crashes after I click forward on step one. Will try to post a pic of the errors. I have reinstalled wattOS SR2 again with no problems. I must have missed something. I checked the md5 hash- the download checked out. I am using Google Chrome and Infrarecorder on Windows xp. The target pc is an old Compaq, Pentuim 3 with 256 Mb ram. Any ideas?
Hi leenie - yes any screens would obviously help. I would not be too concerned about various error messages on the liveCD boot as I have seen them on various builds and installs over time. They can provide interesting info, but if you are getting to the GUI (user interface) and are launching the installer, thats usually a good sign. The installer in this version is different, so it could be related to that depending.
One thing you might to try is open the terminal and launch the installer from there so when it crashes you will see the various lines of information.
Simply open up a terminal and type "ubiquity" (without the quotes) and hit enter, and it will launch the installer. Then try to install as usual and lets see what errors show up in the terminal.
tks...biff
Hey folks... I downloaded/burned ISO R3 recently. Tried to install (Live) on my AMD Sempron 1.8G with 498Meg Ram, running XP. It booted to menu, but when I proceeded (live option) it ran for a minute; then stopped, with nothing but black screen. I tried 3 times; ditto. Any Idea?
