I have tried lubuntu, mint lxde, opensuse lxde, & they all are very similar but none run as well on my ebox as does wattOS.

I have tried slitaz, puppy, mac pup, e, & bodhi. I guess I just couldn't adjust to their enviroments except for e which didn't runs so well on this box & bodhi which I really like. That is one worth trying out.

LXDE & XFCE seem to run alot better on older machines than Gnome or KDE in my experience.

WattOS is just the fastest LXDE-distro I've tested. And believe me : I've done a LOT of testing ;)

I make test of linux since 1998 - I really like it more and more : wattos r5 and r6 or poppy linux are best I could find for PIV 1g where ms win XP is much longer to install. Those linux os are friendly.

LXDE on Wheezy to type this, although I also like lighter WM's (can't wait to see pek on μW) LXDE is the most full-featured de that can really be called ("light.")

I recommend XFCE for people who want more control via the mouse, but I consider it "light" among the heavyweights, where LX is heavy among the lightweights.
