I noticed that on most linux distros that you don't have to much option regarding separating freq to sound either deeper or lighter and bass options too and I am not saying about equalizer.
I own a 2.1home audio system and a creative sound blaster card and it feels like its just stereo instead of 2.1 or 5.1 you get idea.
