Hello everyone! Greetings from Portugal! I've only registered now, but I have had previous contact with wattos R2 and R3. I believe I first heard of it in distrowatch. Altough I've used linux before, I'm still trying to get the hang of it , using command lines and such. My goal is to leave that "other" os from redmond behind for good.
When my newer laptop died, Wattos managed to bring back my ancient laptop to life. I'm now using it on a daily basis for word processing, web surfing and to watch videos and listen to music. So here are the specs:
Compaq armada 110
CPU: Celeron 700mhz
Ram: 576 mb
Hard drive: 4GB Compact Flash card
I installed it using a CD last Monday, so it's pretty recent. Anyway, here´s the scoop so far:
sound: working
network: working
usb ports: working
mouse: working
pcmcia: working (regonized my usb 2.0 card!)
DVD RW drive: not present (maybe it needs to mounted?)
So far, I'm very pleased with it. It takes a while to boot, but when it's set, it is surprisingly fast and stable. Sorry for the long post, hope this helps other users.
